The Change that Ecuador Needs
by Germanico P Vaca
Crime and Narco groups have taken over Ecuador. If Ecuador truly wants to change the narrative and provide the utmost security for their citizen I recommend making the following changes It is much better than any plan that has been provided by the government.
Security first: The Ecuadorian government of Guillermo Lasso
must promise, first and foremost, that it will deliver security in the country—and
Lasso knows he will be judged on this pledge. But it is not only the
government. Ordinary citizens, not just politicians, must pay close attention
to security threats—both from the criminal Mexican, Colombian, Peruvian and Belgian
cartels or any economic transactions across borders and from internal sources—
and the people must make a pledge to vote and elect their leaders based much of
that metric of security.
The whole population must play a role: The Ecuadorian model has
to go further than a simple vision of security services deployed to civilian
spaces: Most young Ecuadorians male and female must serve in the military, and mandatory
conscription should be returned, the military must become the ground of training
in advanced technologies such as drone, mapping, radar, computer technologies, and robotics. Later on, they can be employed in security-related professions
following their service.
Ecuador needs to change the orientation of a dependent
society on the government to a common purpose united citizenry, making them ready
to endure shared sacrifice. Civilians must be able to recognize their
responsibility to follow security protocols and contribute to the cause. Otherwise,
Ecuador will be lost to crime, guerrillas, narcos, and mafias that will make
Ecuador but a brothel of prostitution and crime. That will not stand and we
must take the bull by the horns and make sure we rescue our nation. Some citizens
must arm themselves (though under strict supervision) to do so.
Ecuador needs a widespread mobilization of Ecuadorian
society in collective defense of the nation. I believe there is a potential to
achieve that. The strength of every society comes from the citizens, every single
person matters, and everyone must contribute.
Self-defense is the only way: If there’s any single
principle that can change Ecuadorian society is a doctrine of self-defense.
Every elementary school, Every High School, and every university must provide
free courses and mandatory Tae Kwon Do, Karate, and boxing. Ecuadorians must
learn to defend themselves and make the country a capable nation in how to
fight—we must be able to rely on ourselves. We must understand that no other
country will come to fight our battles.
The tragedy of Ecuadorian history is that has been robbed.
We have evidence in Cueva de Los Tayos, In La Mana, in the Pucaras, In the
Giants of Loja of a rich history dating back thousands of years, and yet
Ecuadorian history is resumed to a few years of occupation by the so-called
Incas who spoke Puquina and adopted Kiwa and Kichua, the language of our
ancestors and now is spread all over the continent. But history relegates
Ecuador to be merely a nation with no soul. Ecuador was forced to fight alone
against a larger aggressor, and as a matter of convenience, more than half its
territory has been taken. We must be clear that we cannot depend on the
guarantees of others.
Some people will say that we can rely on our active defense
partnerships with the United States. That is not a guarantee at all, because
the United States of America only cares about hegemony and their own economic
and strategic interest. Therefore, if it is up to the United States, they will follow
the plan laid out by the neocons which clearly stated that in the Project of
the New American century a new Gran Colombia must be encouraged to erase
Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador and unite them so the United States can gain
total control of the oil, gold, silver, and diamonds. The only solution for
Ecuador is to rely on Self-defense and it doesn’t mean total isolation. We can maintain
an active defense partnership with Brazil, and indeed with the United
States to protect against Chinese ambition on the Galapagos Islands.
Ecuador is perceived as weak and there are great
technological advances that we must accelerate including our own system of
Artificial Intelligence to high jump our intelligence and deepen security
partnerships with Latin American members and receive aid, weaponry,
intelligence, and training to bolster its self-defense.
Intelligence dominance.
Ecuador must invest deeply in its intelligence capabilities
to ensure that it has the means to detect and deter its enemies. Of course, one
is to hope the mistakes of the stupid narcissistic Correa are not repeated as he
perceived “intelligence” to be a force to protect his ass and his stupid
ambitions. Ecuador will need to upgrade its intelligence services to compete
against Colombia, and Peru and especially must improve capabilities to ensure that it’s
prepared to prevent and repulse mafia cartels, narcoguerrillas, and criminal enterprises.
Technology is key: Although it must rely on US assistance, Ecuador
must also choose homegrown technology solutions for many of its greatest
challenges. Metal and Minerals detection and Underground penetrating radars, drone
systems and counter-drone systems, and tunnel detection technology are just examples
of capabilities that Ecuador can improve and create a small industry. Ecuador—already
has some bright technological minds—myself and some other great people I know. Ecuador
will know what threats it faces more than any partner; investing in its own
solutions will allow it to be most responsive and adapt to new threats.
Build an innovation ecosystem: It is of the utmost importance
the training many Ecuadorians to accelerate such innovation. They must
receive high-tech innovation in the military with the contribution of a
civilian innovation ecosystem, which in turn promotes the development of new
security technologies. Ecuador has no lack of talented coders and engineers
(many of whom are employed by Ecuadorian startups). Encouraging the free flow
of talent and ideas between the civilian and security innovation spaces will
pay long-term security and economic dividends.
Maintain democratic institutions: Ecuador continues to face
the challenge of ending the false socialism that started as a plan from the
Pentagon under the Camelot Project in 1965, which chose and trained Rafael
Correa since he was a boy scout and succeeded in making him the Manchurian
candidate and often paraded him like a rare monkey in Yale, Columbia and Yale
University the co-creators of the evil social engineering plan. But within Ecuador
itself, there is a constant threat to the rule of law, the government seems
incapable of providing security and is in desperate need to uphold the core of democratic
institutions and practices. Democracy needs constant maintenance. An
authoritarian state is impossible in Ecuador, so Guillermo Lasso must do what
is best for the nation and I believe that what I have laid out here in the
beginning. He has ignored my previous free ideas. Maybe I should bill him for
this article for him to believe in its value.
